Artigiano Casa was founded in 2003 by Marco Ferretti, a third-generation cabinetmaker whose family had operated a joinery in the Oltrarno district of Florence since the 1940s. Marco trained under his grandfather, learning the traditional Florentine approach to furniture: solid timber, hand-cut joints, natural finishes, and a refusal to rush any piece that bears the family name.
After spending several years working in the workshops of master craftsmen in England and France, Marco returned to Florence with a broader understanding of European furniture traditions and a clear vision: to make the finest handmade furniture available to clients worldwide, without compromising on any detail of the process.
Today, our workshop employs eighteen trained artisans across two floors of our Via dei Servi studio. We have delivered furniture to private clients in over 42 countries. Nothing about our approach has changed since 2003.
Every joint, every surface and every finish is produced by a human hand. We do not use CNC routers or automated production. If a tool didn't exist in a Florentine workshop in 1900, we think carefully before using it today.
We use only solid hardwood — European walnut, French white oak, Italian cherry and wild olive. No MDF, no veneer, no particleboard. Our furniture can be repaired, re-finished and passed down through generations.
We don't make furniture with a design life of ten years. Every piece is built to last indefinitely. Our oldest surviving client pieces are over fifty years old and showing no structural fatigue. That is what we aim for with every commission.

Trained at the Istituto Europeo di Design, Florence. Giulia translates each client's brief into precise technical drawings and manages the design process from consultation through to approval. Her eye for proportion and detail sets the standard for every Artigiano Casa commission.
Twenty-two years of experience in fine furniture making, the last fourteen at Artigiano Casa. Luca manages the daily production of our Florence workshop, coordinates the team of eighteen artisans and ensures every piece leaves to the same exacting standard.
